Ralek and I spent a few hours today putting together this list.
For years terra has managed to retain players with the promise of 'Star Sword' and 'Silver Crossbow' items we all know exist but haven't been implemented.
Lately the player base has begun to shrink dramatically, while this is partially seasonal it cannot be denied that we have been losing players for a long time and the numbers are not being replenished.
It would seem that these mythical items which lie just over the horizon are no longer maintaining player's interest as they once did.
We are calling for a change.
Less players make the game less fun as comunity is a major aspect of Terra World and we want a fun game.
This list of possible changes have been brainstormed so that they would make terra more interesting with more to do even when youve maxed your character
The list of new items looks big, but take into consideration the time it would take to earn the tokens for most of those items. A long time, a lot of voting and a lot of events.
We tried to make guilds more fundamental and skill levelling less mundane.
Most of it is to do with items and a little is to do with Guild dynamics.
What we are trying to acheive is:
-an economy that doesn't rely on NPCs
-interesting game play with numerous ways to gain gold rather than just killing dwarves
-more depth to the game
-more point to the basic skills
-implement more diverse items in a variety of ways
-increase the incidence of pvp
We have compiled this list with specific detail in order to minimize grunt work for admins
We felt that if we did this then it would be more likely that these suggestions may actually be implemented unlike so many before ours.

Overview:

fishing
- 1/500 chance of catching a piece of the oceanic set
- 1/100 chance of catching leather boots

mining
- 1/1000 chance of mining a stone sword
- 1/5000 chance of mining stone skin spell book
- 1/800 chance of getting a chunk of platinum
=> 25% chance of plus for +0 items
=> 15% chance of plus for +1 items
=> 5% chance of plus for +2 items
=> 1% chance of plus for +3 or higher items

lumberjacking
-1/1000 chance of getting a golden log
=>this log has a
=>5/10 chance of becoming a wooden vest
-high defence against arrows(good for pkers)
=>2/10 chance of becoming a golden bed(heals when u stand in it, used instead of qieros inside houses)
=>2/10 chance of becoming a golden cabinet - holds 100 items
=>1/10 chance of becoming a golden axe

Guild Death Match
-Guild Leader can use the guild center to challenge another guild
=> broadcasts a message to each guild inviting them to fight for their honour
=> each member of the guild has the option to enter the guild deathmatch
=> if one member of guild A has entered then a member of guild B must enter before another member of guild A can enter
=> costs 200g to enter, all funds go into the winning guild's guild bank account
=> the winning guild receives a Guild Token(this would be displayed in a counter within the guild centre)
-Guild Bank Account
=> accessible by the leader only, winning from guild events go here
=> fees from the reet gates game also automatically go here

Guild PVP
-Guilds should have friendly fire in PVP

Guild Fortress
-A guild can gain Honour Points from PKing other guilds.
=> Each guild has 500 honour points when created
=> Guilds wih 0 honour points cannot lose points and killing members of these guilds will not gain Honour Points for your guild
=> Guild with the most honour points can access the guild fortress
=> Killing a guild leader gains your guild 5 honour points

Passports
-Town passports would be dropped by the monsters commonly found around the towns
-In using a passport you would be warped to Limbo, in limbo you would need to type the password specific to the town you are trying to go to
-there would be an exit in limbo in case you dont have the necessary password, this would send you back to your spawn
-Badona Passports would warp you to the 'feel Peace' rest place outside the entrance to SS
-Jona Passports would warp you to the Dragon Hatchlings on class island
-All other passports would warp you to the town's spawn point
-Faction member would drop passports to each of the class island towns suiting to them(karseth-warriors, amorach-mages, roeslare-adventurers) at a 1/500 rate

Tokens
-Tokens can be used as currency in the online token shop. Specific token items can be bought here. As possesing an token item is a tantamount to earning the tokens these token items need be non-tradeable(e.g. each bought has a user-specific code like cabbies and only the person whose name is on the code may equip it)
-Once a token item is bought it can be found in your token chest(like the donation chest but for token specific items)
-Guild Tokens
=> Upon winning a guild deathmatch the guild receives one token(displayed in either the guild leader's bio or in the guild centre)
=> items available within the guild store:
+1 defence
=> All members of the guild have defence increased by 1 (this defence is lost upon leaving the guild)
=> cost: 20 Guild Tokens
=> can only be bought once
+2 defence
=> see above
=> cost 50 Guild Tokens
=> can only be bought once
+1 attack
=> same as defence, but with attack
=> cost: 20 guild tokens
=> can only be bought once
+2 attack
=> see above
=> cost: 50 Guild Tokens
=> can only be bought once
Guild Hall Map
=> one free room mapped within your guild hall
=> cost: 10 Guild Tokens
=> can be bought multiple times

=> every member of your guild has 5 extra hp

=> every member of your guild has 10 extra hp
=> cost: 500 Guild Tokens

Guild Party Pack

=> automatically puts a picture of the maps you have visited onto a large image(so a map of all of terra world that grows as you explore)indoor maps do not get added to the world map

=> HP increases twice as fast as normal

-Making a perma much less detrimental to a younger player with hopes of maxing

New Skill
-Malice
=> levelled by killing other players in pvp
=> can also be levelled by killing members of the opposite faction but this is about 30% as effective as killing other players

looks like you spent a lot of time and effort on these ideas. well done.

i'm not exactly sure about exact numbers and percentages of drops,
but i like the concept you're proposing.

a better variety of drops and more guild content could give players a lot to do around the game.

i don't really like stuff like boosts \ stat enhancements and status ailment inflicting items (hold, damage to control etc), since high level and well equipped chars are already strong enough.

and i also think that 1/500 fishing or 1/1000 for itms as rare and useful as the items you described is too easy.
someone with maxed mining and a few sliver tokens would be able to mine himself a fortune within the hour.

the numbers themselves would probably take a bit of tweaking, and for guilds i prefer bonuses that are more about looks and bragging rights than actually stat boosts, but i really like the game direction you proposed here.

implementing some of the ideas you described here, and maybe adding a party system and boss monsters and we'll have a whole new and exciting terra Laughing out loud

For guilds it should be like everybody gains 'Dark helm bought with guild tokens which could = war helm but look sleek
But overall pretty good ideas.. add some and its good

Nice work on putting all that together Laura and Ralek!

I like most of it (love it actually) but I have a few things to say.

First of all, I am undecided of whether or not I would like skill books. The reason I wouldn't like them is because it makes it to easy. However, with getting tokens, you would be giving up getting another item over the spell book; and you would have to get the tokens as well so it would be a bit more difficult. But I think for now we should leave it the way it is, and have people master the things and experience it first hand Smile

Secondly, regarding the Sword of Death: I wouldn't increase the attack by one every 250 pk's. Look at people on top of the PK chart - that would be a LOT of extra attack.

Third, the Hole-In-The-Ground is a great idea, but you should be able to make it into a skill. With just one "Hole-In-The-Ground Skill" you would not be able to just put a hole in the ground right away. It would take longer to dig, and sometimes you would mess up and it wouldn't be a deep enough hole or not big enough. You would still keep the portable fishing hole, however and it wouldn't disappear from your inventory like logs do.

Also, I would like to know what your plan for the permanent HP is? You said we will be able to regain it without the use of a Golden Cup, but you didn't say how.

Finally, star sword should not cost so much! It is basically a useless item on this server; FD sword is way stronger, and I think a broad sword might even be stronger, not sure though. It will be an item mostly for looks, so I think 1000 tokens for it is pretty over priced.

All in all, awesome job! I like the ideas, I hope they get implemented some time. However, I am not sure if they well with TWA coming out "soon". It will take a while to put all these in and maybe Tom already has some of these idea's coming out in TWA.

my guess for regaining hp without gold cup would be like how it is if you die vile under 60 hp, you lose some of it but instead of paying 500k you can just go back to whatever monster to get it back up.

i read all but a few of the monster drops towards the bottom, and i will say i like most of that. except for the skill books...i still dont like the idea of those. though i will admit that the

does kinda of counter that. though...meh...i think it might just be one of those "its not fair for the new people to get out of it so easily" kind of things...

and the reason i didnt read all of the suggested monster drops was due to one thing i noticed and disagree with...no monster should drop donation items. for instance, an assassin shouldnt drop a murder shield. thats where i stopped reading actually, so if that was the only one with that scenario i guess you could just change it...

and then id agree with everything xD

you have to realize a lot of those people dont even play anymore. now, im not sure of who does and doesnt play...im just saying not everyone on the top list is going to be using one of these swords and one hitting people xD and besides...if you can kill people that efficiently, youre more than likely not going to need to worry about how much you hurt someone, you could kill them anyway Tongue

Secondly, regarding the Sword of Death: I wouldn't increase the attack by one every 250 pk's. Look at people on top of the PK chart - that would be a LOT of extra attack.
you have to realize a lot of those people dont even play anymore. now, im not sure of who does and doesnt play...im just saying not everyone on the top list is going to be using one of these swords and one hitting people xD and besides...if you can kill people that efficiently, youre more than likely not going to need to worry about how much you hurt someone, you could kill them anyway Tongue

Okay, not all of them play that is true. But don't you think some day some other person will be getting that many PK's? And you said they could probably kill everyone anyways because they had that many PK's. Seems kinda unfair, don't you think? Now no one would have any chance.

I still disagree with the Sword of Death idea. A sword called the Sword of Death would be sweet though Smile

i understand what youre saying, but look at the player list sometime and seriously consider it really being a problem...not enough people really play for someone to really become a godly death machine or something xD
but at the same time, i spose there is hope for the game to pick up again and if it did, then it could be a problem. but a "pker" specific weapon would be pretty sweet...

Ok, but Will (soulistsjr) is climbing up the PK ladder... he plays a lot still. He would be able to pwn people with that =P.
But I guess if it only does +1 damage per 250 kills he would only be 8-10 ahead of everyone... for now. Seems like a lot of extra damage, no? :S

thats where the silver mail would come in handy, reduces damage from swords, so it might only be about 5 damage then
