Cyle, Dave, Luke and myself have been working hard on a project to create a completely new game client for TerraWorld.

This game client will run inside your browser and is made in Java.

Today we have released a first offline client sneak preview so you guys can see what we have built already.

This client shows the general size and look and feel of the new game client. But a lot isn't functional yet.

The game itself has a resolution of 1280x720 (720p). So if you have a smaller computer screen you might need to scroll down/sideways to see everything.

To solve any problems with small screens, we have made every widget dragable so players can arrange the widgets to their liking. The idea is that the widget positions are restored when you log in with your account. (This isn't possible yet).

A common question will be 'what are the white squares at the side of the game screen?'
A: These boxes will become quick links to spells and usable items. They will also have a key-binding for quick use.

I would like to point out that all 4 of us are doing this in our free time. And I would like to thank all team members for this!

You can test the game client at this url:
http://www.terragaming.net/play

Feedback/encouragement would be appreciated!

ps: When you press the F key, how high does your FPS counter in the top right hand corner go?

You should make the chat

You should make the chat box/system message widgets resizable. If I were to play from my desktop, I'd have to drag things around, and still would only be able to see half of the stuff, which would annoy the living hell out of me.

We are indeed planning to make widgets re-sizable where possible.

Ah, I can live with that I

Ah, I can live with that I suppose. Though I'm curious, will it be possible to play this offline? You may think of it as negative, but I absolutely hate browser based games. Steve

It will most likely be possible to release a stand alone client too yes. But I will have to look at how this will work in practice once we are further along with the project. Initially our focus will be on the browser based one.

I suppose that is reasonable. I know there are people that like browser based games, but that's no reason to alienate the players who don't. ;p

hello everyone,
i have tried to play the 0.0.1 version on my wii internet, but it didn't work,
cause the WII internet doesn't provide "Java version 6/ update 20" so if u wanna test the 0.0.1 verion...the WII is no help.
